God of War si è aggiudicato il premio come Gioco dell’anno ai The Game Awards 2018, che si sono appena tenuti a Los Angeles, battendo la concorrenza di Red Dead Redemption 2.
Al titolo di Sony Santa Monica sono andati anche i premi come Migliore Regia e Miglior Gioco d’azione-avventura. Red Dead Redemption 2 si è invece aggiudicato i premi come Miglior Trama, Miglior Design Audio, Miglior Colonna Sonora e Miglior Prestazione (assegnata a Roger Clark, interprete di Arthur Morgan).
Tra i vincitori figurano anche molti giochi indie, come Celeste, Florence, Return of the Obra Dinn, Dead, Overcooked 2 e Into the Breach.
